All I can say about New Orleans is it has loads of personality. There is such a unique mixture of culture, music, neighborhoods, food it’s just a giant melting jambalaya boulaibaissing(sp?) pot.
I happened to arrive on the second busiest weekend of the year totally unprepared and unable to book a hotel. But even though I had to spend the night in my car off Bourbon street curled up in a frightened ball as crackheads vs. gypsies took place outside my slightly opened window at all hours of the night, I truly enjoyed the festivities. The streets were filled with people and music was floating around every street corner. The food was mouth watering, the atmosphere exTREMEly vibrant, but I really got off on all the street performers. While I’m totally accustomed to and jaded by street performers as a New Yorker, I found so many individuals exhibiting acts I had never seen (not in a perverted way) (well that too) and playing music stlyes I had never heard.
This is from one of the 300 year old cemeteries dotting the city of New Orleans. Many were destroyed during the many rule changes the city experienced over that time period, but several still stand and house the bodies of nobles and commoners alike. This crypt dates back to the 1700’s.

crackheads and gypsies. super. Hope you’re having fun!
“exTREMEly”…well done sir!
ah you saw what I did there!
