Organ Pipes National Monument is about 0 miles from the Mexican border so the road leading there consists of speeding sports cars, border patrol and conspicuous minivans. I was stopped 4 times by the border patrol and questioned thoroughly as to why it looked like someone was living in the backseat. I just pretended to not speak English and they let me go.
Because of this less than hospitable welcome committee, and its remoteness, the monument is not heavily trafficked(by tourists). When touring the 25 miles loop within the grounds I didn’t see a single soul, except some other border patrol agents who asked me why I was covered in dirt and not wearing a shirt.
Many of the cacti in this area are over 200 year old and taller than a 2 story building.

IYour talent in multiple accents can fool anybody. But isn’t it better to speak proper English to patrol officers to convince them you are legitimate?
I have no idea that these cacti can be that old and tall.
Hey, Gringo. KE is correct. Also, who is living in the back? 🙂 No photo of border guards? 200 year old cacti !!! So I am not the only old #$%^& around.
